Students in Mrs. Stobbe’s high school cooking classes have had a busy start to the school year. They began their studies on foods with 14 entries into the Putnam County Fair baking divisions. Students entered into categories including cakes, pies, quick breads, yeast breads, and brownies. The high school cooking class took top honors in several divisions. According to Julia Child, “no one is born a great cook, one learns by doing”. Likewise, students will be “doing” exactly that this year in the FCS classroom, learning about food through experience.

1st place: Jenna, Emily, and Adriana; Brooke, Ashlynn, and Jordan.
2nd place winners: Josh and Justin; Kelsie, Riley, and Tyler; Brennan, Nicole, and Clarissa; Kolby and Taya; Cady and Heather.
3rd place winners: Kelsey and Sydney, Christian and Ethan.
