Most of you might think this is the season for winter, but for the middle school and high school band/choir programs, it's contest season! The high school choir and band students are working hard on their individual solos and small ensembles which will be performed before a judge on March 28th in Kirksville, MO. The high school band continues to entertain you and support the basketball teams at home Varsity basketball games all while preparing their large ensemble for it's contest, which will be held on March 20th in Hannibal, MO.
On January 17th, a couple of the middle school students traveled to Macon, MO for Junior High District Honor Band Auditions. These students practiced their audition material for several months for a chance to play in the District band. Taffi T. recieved 7th chair in the red band, Jaylen W. received 4th chair in the red band, and Zach G. recieved 4th chair in the blue band. Both these bands are equal in quality, so it's clear that these students did very well. They will be performing in their concert on February 21st in Macon, MO at 5:00 pm.
