Students in Mrs. Stobbe’s high school cooking classes have had a busy start to the school year. They began their studies on foods with 18 entries into the Putnam County Fair baking divisions.  Students were awarded six blue ribbons, fourred ribbons, and two white ribbon. Students entered into categories including cakes, pies, quick breads, yeast breads, and brownies. The high school cooking class took top honors in several divisions. According to Julia Child, “no one is born a great cook, one learns by doing”. Likewise, students will be “doing” exactly that this year in the FCS classroom, learning about food through experience.
