The Putnam County Marching Band has been in full swing during the first quarter. On September 24th, both our high school and middle school marching bands traveled to Centerville, Iowa for the "Pancake Day" Parade. Both bands performed wonderfully. Our Middle school band earned second place in the Junior High competition and the high school band took first place in class 2A. "Pancake Day" was the perfect way for our high school band to start our competition season. The middle school band has finished their marching season and are excited and ready to start into concert season.

While the middle school band is finished with marching band, the high school band is just beginning. The marching band will be taking their show on the road into competition three more times this quarter. We start our "Week of Madness" by supporting our football team at halftime at our home game on the 7th of October. The next morning is an early day traveling to the "Central Methodist Marching Festival" where we will be performing in parade, field, indoor guard, and drumline competition.  Following our trip to Fayette will be our competition in St. Joseph Missouri where we will be performing our field show. That Friday, October 14th, we will support our football team by performing at halftime of the home game with an early morning to follow. On October 15th, we will be traveling to Trenton, Missouri to compete at "Trenton Marching Festival" where the band will be performing in parade, field, indoor guard, and drumline competition.  Please, come out and support our marching band!
