2011 State FFA Convention

State Convention

It was another great year for our FFA Chapter at State Convention this year. We are proud to say we had six teams advance to state, which includes the Agronomy team, Dairy Foods team, Entomology team, Forestry team, Horses team, and Poultry team.  Each team went down to Columbia, MO, and competed well against many teams throughout the state of Missouri.  Agronomy team members consisted of Samantha D., Craig G., Dakoda O. and Samantha S..  The team placed 17th at state and received a Group II rating, while Craig Griswold and Samantha D. both received individual Group I ratings.  The Dairy Foods team consisted of Sara G., Damien G., Ashley H., and Katie R..  The team placed 14th at state and received a Group II rating, while Sara G. received an individual Group I rating.  The Entomology team consisted of Becca M., Levi T., Derek T., and Kailee S., who received a team Group I rating, while placing 6th at state.  Individual Group I ratings were also rewarded to Becca M., Levi T., and Derek T.. This year’s forestry team consisted of Niki C., Ty C., Dakota V., and Jacob V..  The team placed 10th at state and received a Group I rating, while Ty C., Dakota V., and Jacob V.received individual Group I ratings.  The Horse Team consisted of Gloria C., Kristen C., Michael H., and Nioka K..  The team placed 36th at state and received a Group II rating. The Poultry team consisted of Preston H., Jordan H., Cash M., and Marissa S..  The team placed 29th at state competition and received a Group II rating.  Levi Thompson received his Proficiency Award for Forest Management while at the convention as well.  We are proud to say we had three students receive their State FFA Degrees this year.  Katelyn B., Sara G., and Derek T. were all acknowledged and received their degrees Friday evening.  Overall, it was another successful year for our FFA Chapter at state convention this year and we have our sights set high for next year as well.
