First Grade Field Trip

Thousand Hills State Park

The first grade classes enjoyed a day at the Missouri Conservation teaching center at Thousand Hills State Park. Students enjoyed creating multiple arts and crafts that taught the students the importance of conservation in relation to plants and animals Some of the crafts created included a butterfly that shows the stages of its life and a fish made from a dyed coffee filter.

Later in the day, students enjoyed a storybook hike and enjoyed multiple exhibits that included snakes, turtles, and salamanders.  First grade students then enjoyed playing at the park, a highlight for them, and eating a sack lunch as well. Mrs. Fenton,  Mrs. Blankenship,  and Mrs. Hamilton, wish to thank everyone involved, the staff at the conservation office, the bus drivers, and the chaperones, for making the day super special for the kids.
