Putnam County High School

Daily Bulletin - Wednesday, August 22, 2018

If you have received a ticket to eat outside, you may do so today!  There are 3 designated tables for high school students outside the commons.  You should give your tickets to Ms. Schmitter prior to getting your tray. If the tables are full, you will have to pick another day to eat outside.

Please DO NOT sit on the counter/ island in the HS commons.  This was painted this summer and is not meant to be sat on. Please help take care of it so we can keep the school looking nice!

All class changes will be final TODAY at noon.

FFA trap shoot practice and try-outs this Wed and Thursday, Aug. 22 and 23.  Start about 3:30 pm at trap range.

The Class Officer Rules of Conduct form will be due by 3:30 pm on Thursday, August 23rd for those nominated for a class office.  Elections will be held over lunch on Friday, August 24th.

Anyone interested in applying to be an officer for FBLA, find Mrs. Schoonover.  All applications have to be turned in by Aug 31. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Play tryouts for Peter Pan are Thursday, August 23rd, and Friday, August 24th before and after school. Come by tryouts and receive a free doughnut/breakfast. Sign up sheets are outside Miss Errante’s door. Freshman cannot try out for a part, but there is plenty of backstage and theatrical help needed.

There will be an Interact meeting next Monday during activity period to elect officers, discuss upcoming service learning opportunities, and to discuss the fall Interact retreat, which will be on September 20 at Truman State University.  We will take a bus over there, and will be back in time for afternoon and evening activities/practices. If you don't know what Interact is, plan to attend the meeting to find out! More information about the retreat is available at https://interactretreat.org/.

If you are interested in joining FCCLA, please pay $13 dues to Mrs. Stobbe ASAP!

If you are interested in joining Science Club this year, please stop by Mrs. Parajara's room and put your name on the list outside her door. We should be having an administrative meeting sometime next week during activity period. Also, if you are interested in being a part of Science Olympiad this year, also let Mrs. Parajara know. This is a fun, interactive and challenging activity that takes place in February. Participants use different skills to perform experiments, do forensics, coding, and a number of other activities. We will need people not only interested in science, but also people who are good at building things since the activities also include creating hovercrafts, making towers and designing Rube Goldberg devices. Lots of fun! Practices will start soon.

See Mrs. Hollon if you need an agenda and didn’t pick one up with your schedule.

Please return your paperwork for the First Day of School Packet ASAP!
