"What Makes Me, Me"
Middle School Students Present Unique Speeches
These first few weeks of school, 8th graders in Ms. Ruby's class have been working on writing an essay and preparing a speech to give to their peers. The topic of their essay's and speech was "What Makes Me, Me". Students were to pick something that made them unique, a character trait, talent, unusual background. Then they were to write about their uniqueness and share with the class.
It was a requirement that students have some sort of visual aid for their 3-5 minute speech. The visual aid could be a picture, sports equipment, instrument, animal, etc. The students enjoyed gaining new insight about their peers while learning to write and deliver a speech.
