Opinion Writing in Third Grade
What is ONE thing our school could change to make this school the BEST SCHOOL EVER? This was the writing prompt students answered this week as part of our Opinion Writing Unit. Although I cannot share every response, here is a brief summary of what third graders think we should change about our school: The most popular answers were more recess or more PE. (Did that surprise you?) Two responses focused on pets: bring pets to school or have a class pet. A few responses wanted more time for art, math, and work in general. One student suggested that we abolish all school rules, and another student suggested "No School Fridays". As you can see, we have many ideas and opinions in third grade. Do you have a favorite?
