From the Desk of Dr. Halley: MSIP, CSIP, APR Goals & Accomplishments

It is my hope that by sharing with you the State of Missouri’s history with Missouri School Improvement Program (MSIP), Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP), that I can now reasonably explain our Annual Performance Report or APR.

Annually, the board of education and administration discuss the APR. After APR scores of 75.4% and 77.9% in 2014 and 2015. The decision was made for our goals to become 85% for the 2016-2017 school year and 90% for 2017-2018 and remain above 90% thereafter.

Putnam County R-I fell just short of our goal in 2016 as we only reached 82.1%. However, for 2017 we attained a 94.6% and followed a 93.3% in 2018. We have met our set goals for 2017, and 2018 school years.

For MSIP 5, which is what guides the APR, we have five areas which our “performance” is measured.

1. Academic Achievement (MAP) tests

2. Subgroup Achievement

3. College and Career Readiness

4. Attendance

5. Graduation

 

The calculations for Academic Achievement and subgroup achievement are not extremely difficult, just too long to provide in this format. However, in our most recent APR we received the following scores:

1. Academic Achievement we earned 34.4 points out of 40.0 points possible or 86.0%

(MAP) tests

2. Subgroup achievement we earned 8.0 points out of 10.0 points possible or 80.0%

for us, it is most likely students recognized as free and reduced lunch participants or special education students.

3. College and Career Ready (CCR) 29.5 points out of 30.0 points possible or 98.3%. This is an area where we are scored based upon what our students do after graduation from High School.

4. Attendance 10.0 points out of 10.0 points possible or 100.0%

(94.9%) 2015, 2016, and 2017 3 year average

5. Graduate rate 30.0 points out of 30.0 points possible or 100.0%

95.5% graduation rate 2016,2017, 2018

So, we earned 111.9 points out of a total of 120 points which equals a 93.3%

 

In my next installment, I will begin to discuss our recent district improvement surveys, focus groups and the information we gained.
