November 1, 2019

Dear Parents,

The weather is beginning to cool down. Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. They play outside each afternoon for 30 minutes then again for 15. In order to play in the snow, your child must have snow boots, snow pants, and gloves. A hat would be great too!

We would also like to welcome Noah to our class!

Grandparents Day is November 26! Students are allowed to leave with their grandparents as long as they have a note sent saying they can. It will NOT count against their attendance for them leaving.

Next week in:

Communication Arts: We will begin a new unit. We will work on present and past tense verbs, cause and effect,  fables, and comparing and contrasting.

Spelling: Your child’s list is in the Friday Folder. Tests are on Thursdays!

Math: We just finished unit 4. We will start unit 5 and will be focusing on subtracting tens and ones on a hundred chart, counting back to subtract on an open number line, add up to subtract using an open number line, and breaking apart numbers to subtract.

Social Studies/Science: We started a new unit on Native Americans.

Upcoming Events:

November 11- Veteran’s Day Assembly at 9 a.m.

November 21-  Picture Retake Day

November 26- Grandparents Day 9-10:45 - Early Out

Sincerely,

Mrs. Jones
