Art Comes In Many Forms

The high school Art Club spent Friday at the St.Louis City Museum. Many of the students had a typical art museum in mind, where they would walk quietly from room to room viewing paintings on the wall, making sure not to touch! While we all still enjoy seeing famous artwork, students were excited and perplexed when we arrived to see a school bus and part of an airplane attached to the 10-story museum.
The St.Louis City Museum is a surrealistic playground for all ages created by internationally acclaimed artist Bob Casslliy. The entire 600,000 square foot building is an architectural marvel mostly made from found and repurposed objects. Everything is interactive and made for everyone and anyone to play like a kid.
Students spent four hours climbing, sliding, playing, and getting lost on purpose. Even Ms.Hines crawled through tunnels and slid down the 5 AND 10-story slide!
