Unwanted Break
Students and teachers usually desire scheduled school breaks, but the break we are experiencing now is not wanted. Here at Putnam County, we are trying to adapt our learning to these undesirable circumstances. To help my math students, I am assigning videos and exercises on khanacademy.org which remind students of the concepts we were working on prior to the interruption. The materials not only review but can clarify understanding.
There are some students who should take advantage of this time to complete missing assignments. If this describes you, an email should be sent to me when you have completed an online bigideas.com or study island assignment so it can be graded.
Learning does not have to stop just because we are not in a certain building. Students can learn as much as they want! Please encourage your student to continue learning.
