A Quick Update from HS Social Studies
Here are a few updates from my classroom!
Economics: We are currently talking about supply and demand, and learning about how those two things affect the economy here in Putnam County. We have covered topics such as the different kinds of economies, and how the economy here in the United States works. Next unit we will be creating our own small businesses and then presenting them to the class.
American History: We are wrapping up our unit on the Wild West this week. Next unit we will be covering the turn of the century and talk about the various groups of people immigrating to the United States through Ellis Island. Other topics we will cover this semester include American Imperialism, and World War I. We will also be completing some research on our family trees in the next few weeks so be on the lookout for that assignment with your students.
Government: In class we are currently talking about the Constitution and the things it provides for our government. As the year progresses we will take a closer look at each of the articles of the Constitution. Just a friendly reminder to those of you that are eligible to vote, please remember to go out and cast your vote on November 3rd!
