December 2020 Career & Technical Education Student of the Month: Cooper S.

I am very excited to be back in the Business classroom.  All CTE (Career & Technical Education) programs hold a special place in my heart, but Business is extra special.

Today I get to present the December Career & Technical Education Student of the Month.  This is an award designed and implemented by the CTE teachers here at Putnam County RI. Your CTE teachers include Ag, Business, Marketing, FACS (Family and Consumer Science), and Building Trades. I get to still be included in the CTE group due to my role as Vocational Coordinator.

The CTE staff wants to recognize the hard work and dedication of the students in our programs. We believe that CTE courses are vital to the success of our students in the future -- whether students are headed to work or college or tech-school after HS.  The skills you are learning in CTE courses WILL help you.

Each month the CTE teachers get together to select a student to represent the department as Career & Technical Education Student of the Month.  Many factors are considered, including:

  • Attendance/Grades

  • Cooperation with fellow students and teachers

  • Enthusiasm for Subject(s)

  • Positive Attitude both in the classroom and out

  • Leadership Qualities

  • Community Involvement

This month's winner was nominated by Mrs. Schoonover.  Here are some things that were said about our December winner:

"Cooper has been a foundation to the FBLA program the last three years, as he has served as Treasurer, Secretary and Vice-President. During that time, Cooper has taken several business and marketing classes offered through the vocational program here at PCHS. With any fundraiser, activity, or event, he is there helping and donating his time for the betterment of FBLA with his relaxed personality, and diligence to do it correctly."

CONGRATULATIONS COOPER!
