Spring into Learning!

We are happy to see the warmer temperatures at school, and we are learning all about Spring!  In Spring, animals, bugs, and flowers are growing up all around us.  This is a great time to learn about “serration” (formation, arrangement, succession, or position in a series or orderly sequence).  Reading and discussing the life cycles of a butterfly, frog, or bumblebee are good opportunities to explore sequence in nature.  Spring is also a great time to research nature "facts" in books from the library and on the internet.  There are many different species of insects.  In researching insects and other Spring-Life, your children will learn comparison skills while discovering and comparing different species, life cycles, and habitats. Check out these videos on YouTube for an interesting butterfly, bee, and frog life cycle video:

You can also search for “Bees Hatch National Geographic”, “Butterfly A Life National Geographic” or “Glass Frog National Geographic” in the YouTube Search Engine.  Enjoy some nature and learn along the way!
