Whitney is the daughter of WesLee and Mary Rowland.
Whitney has been an active participant in Band, Scholar Bowl, Art Club, Upward Bound, A+ tutoring, and involved in many other clubs and activities during her high school career.
Whitney plans are to attend Truman State University with a double major in Statistics and Psychology for my Bachelor's Degree. Afterward, she plans on receiving her Masters of Mathematics Education with a minor in political science.
Some of Whitney's favorite memories at PCR-I involve time spent with members of the art club, band, scholar bowl, and Upward Bound.
In ten years, Whitney hopes to be a director for a TRIO program. (Federal outreach and student services programs designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.)
Whitney wants people to know that “even if you think you can't, you probably can.”
Her favorite quote inspires people to pursue their own individuality and uniqueness. It's a quote from Mare Jacobs: “I like people who have a sense of individuality. I love expression and anything awkward and imperfect because that's natural and that's real."
Miss Rowland's advice for incoming freshmen is to “apply for Upward Bound when you are a sophomore (if you're eligible).”
When asked who inspires her to pursue her dreams, Whitney replied ”the Upward Bound Program. They have helped me achieve so much more than I ever thought I could, and now it is my turn to do the same for others.”
