Building Trades: Let's Build Something!

Welcome to Building Trades 2021-2022. We are going to have fun this year, but we will be super busy. Let’s build something!

Before I get ahead of myself, let me tell you a little about our program. First of all, we learn the basics of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and life skills. If you take two years of building trades here at PCR1 and decide to go on to NCMC in the carpentry field you can leave PCR1 with 30 out of your 61-hour associate degree. You can also test for the Central Missouri Carpenters Joint Apprenticeship Program and go into that program right out of high school being level 1,2, or 3 union certified, and start an apprenticeship with a company in Missouri without having to go to trade school. Pretty exciting to say the least!

The question I hear the most is what are we going to do this year? Well, here goes. We will start with building a 50x60x 20’ side wall, cheer gym and re-siding a two-story house, and installing a wrap-around deck at Lake Thunderhead. We have a pole barn to build, another deck, install some doors, a good deal of concrete to pour, some landscaping to do, remodeling to do, and many other small projects. We have no shortage of work and probably will struggle to get everything done. However, I believe we are up to the challenge.

If you are needing something done feel free to give me a call at 660-947-3361 ext.557 or cell 660-626-4362 and we can discuss your needs and schedule.
