Elemental Arrangement With Excitement!
Students in Mr. Watt's chemistry classes have been conducting a variety of labs as well as watching a few demonstrations to help make learning more memorable. For instance, Chemistry 2 students have been studying thermochemistry, so they have tried to perfect the reusable handwarmers they have constructed in class. That group is also beginning a lab concerning the amount of heat created when two different solutions are combined.
In Chemistry 1, students took another look at how reactive sodium is when it is placed in water. The attached video clearly demonstrates that it is a highly reactive element, which directly impacts how it is classified and where it is located on the periodic chart. Needless to say, it seems there is a solid sense of excitement coming from the chemistry classroom.
