Jennifer Trimble: Teacher Spotlight

It is Twosday, February 22, 2022, and what better time to celebrate our 2nd-grade teachers!

Mrs. Jennifer Trimble, travels to us from Iowa every day. She grew up in Seymour, Iowa, graduated high school there in 2000, and went on to pursue her college degree in education at Simpson and Graceland University and graduated from Graceland in 2003. After graduating from college with her Bachelor's of Education with a reading endorsement, Mrs. Trimble taught in 3 long-term sub positions her first year out of college. She then taught for 7 years at Mormon Trail Community School in Humeston, IA. She joined us at Putnam County a little over a decade ago and we are so glad she did!

We asked Mrs. Trimble who or what inspired her to become a teacher and she told us, "my 5th-grade teacher, Mrs. Johnston, and a desire to work with children."

Mrs. Trimble has been married to her husband Jake for 19 years! They have 4 children; 17-year-old twins- Jacob and Jade, 16-year-old daughter - Jami, and 12-year-old daughter- Jaci. They live on a farm in Numa, IA, where they raise sheep and cattle. They spend most of their time working on the farm. Jennifer and her family enjoy camping, boating, and traveling in their spare time. You will often find Mrs. Trimble in the crowd cheering on their children in their activities. Mrs. Trimble says she, "loves watching them play!"

Mrs. Trimble's favorite quote is: "Whatever makes your soul happy, do that."

Her favorite book is Charlotte's Web by E.B. White.
