2nd Grade Learns About Sound
2nd graders have been learning about sound in Science. Students learned how musical instruments can be played by blowing, plucking, stroking, or striking. They also learned that sound can have a high or a low pitch. Students had fun experimenting with pitch by making duck calls with a straw. To wrap up the unit on sound, each student was given the task of constructing their own musical instrument that makes a sound. They were encouraged to try to show two ranges of pitch. The results were amazing! They did an excellent job!
