Middle School Character Education Assembly: April & May 2022

 

On Friday, April 22, 2022, Bentley McCormack, Junior High Student Council President began the Middle School Character Education Assembly by leading everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance. 

 

Good attitude winners for April 2022: These students have shown a good attitude in the classroom and amongst their peers. They will receive 2-10 point bonus coupons with their certificate. Thank you for being a great example for everyone at Putnam County R-1.

Character education word of the month for April 2022 was perseverance. Perseverance: steadfastness despite difficulty investing all of my energy to complete the tasks assigned to me. The following students receive a t-shirt, a concession stand voucher, and a plaque.

The winners are:

  • 7th-Jacob Jones

  • 8th-Ashtten Campbell

April student of the month will receive a framed certificate, a dog tag that allows them to get into PC events for free for the school year, and a pop. Students who receive this award have displayed outstanding behavior, and a positive attitude, and have been great role models for his or their peers.

  • 8th-Bowdy Wood

Character education word of the month for May 2022 is forgiveness.  Forgiveness means: clearing the record of those who have wronged me and not holding a grudge. 

These students receive a t-shirt, a concession stand voucher, and a certificate.

  • 8th-Sammi Jo Blanchard

 

May students of the month will receive a framed certificate, a dog tag that allows them to get into PC events for free for the school year, and a box of candy. Students who receive this award have displayed outstanding behavior, and a positive attitude, and have been great role models for their peers.

MAP testing starts April 27 during TA. MAP Fun day will be on May 16th. You are not eligible if you receive disciplinary consequences during MAP Testing.

 

8th-grade trip scheduled for Friday, May 13. If you receive disciplinary consequences starting April you will not be allowed to go. You also need to have your lunch bill, fines and fees paid below $20 to attend. We will be traveling to Scotty’s Fun Spot in Quincy, IL. 

 

The 8th-grade promotion and awards ceremony will be May 18th. 8:30, and promotion at 9.

 

The last day of school will be May 18th. Dismissal will be 1:04. Movie and homework room after promotion.

 

Summer School will start May 23rd and run through June 24th. Then again from July 8- 23. We will offer normal incentivized summer school, plus summer school for attendance,  reading, and credit recovery. Forms are in the office if you would like to attend, please return to the office asap.
