PCR-I Welcomes Home, Mrs. Jacquie Tosspon!

đź’™Please give a warm PCR-I welcome to Ms. Jacquie Tosspon, High School English Language Arts teacher!

🤍Jacquie was born in Northern England, raised in Christchurch, New Zealand, and spent her teenage years in Naples, Italy. She then moved to the United States in the 70s and has been here since.

đź“–Jacquie's love of reading began as a child. She has always viewed reading as a pleasant diversion. As an introvert, reading allowed her to explore other realms of the world and possibilities without having to be extroverted. Mr. Bushue, who had a lisp and a peg leg, inspired Jacquie’s love of the English language in primary school. That was also when she decided she wanted to be an English teacher when she grew up. She often played school with siblings and friends, where she was always the teacher.

🤓She is a self-proclaimed sci-fi nerd. Although she appreciates all genres. Jacquie usually has 2-3 books she is reading at a time depending on what is going on in her life.

đź‘©‍🏫Life interrupted and Jacquie ended up starting a family and later went to college in her 40s. She was petrified, so she started small at Indian Hills, then earned a scholarship to Truman at age 44, proving that it is never too late to chase your dreams. She was very fortunate to have Mrs. Partridge call her and tell her to apply to teach at Putnam County Middle School as she was finishing her graduate work. She enjoyed 10 glorious years of Middle School, teaching English Language Arts.

đź’™We are so excited to have her back in our High School ELA department after spending time with family for the past few years.

🏠Jacquie says, “She is so glad to be home.”

🤍Please give Ms. Jacquie Tosspon a warm PCR-I welcome home!
