Lets Play Battleship!
Our class has been learning about coordinate grid maps lately. So to review our map reading skills, we played Battleship! Students each filled in their own map with 3 ships on it yesterday and today they partnered up to see which student could sink the other persons ships first. The ships varied in size. One ship was 3 blocks long, another was 4 blocks long, and the last was 5 blocks long. One student would say a coordinate, for example (A,3), and the other student would say if it was a "hit" or a "miss". It was fun teaching them how to play, and then watching them play, as many had never played before. The best part was playing the game outside while soaking up the sunshine.
