Marching Band started things off with the school song.

The second semester has begun and the Putnam County Music program starts off with a bang! Our fifth graders are working hard to learn how to play their new instrument in hopes of being able to perform at the Evening with the Arts.  Our sixth grade band students are working hard in their books and moving along quickly. This semesters sixth grade class shows great potential and promise. They have improved so much in the first semester and we are all excited to see how much they will grow in this coming semester!

The seventh and eighth grade band class worked extremely hard last semester with marching band, the veterans assembly, and preparing for the Christmas concert. Needless to say, they were disappointed about the weather when they could not have their concert. However, they are preparing to show you all there hard work in the concert to come at the end of March!  Taffi T., Madison H., Kristina M., and Mia S. are traveling to Macon, Missouri this Saturday to audition for Junior High District Honor Band.  They have been working hard to learn the material and ready as ever! Wish them luck!

The high school choir is starting to prepare for solo and small ensemble contests for this spring as well as a musical themed concert for the Evening with the Arts! We have several students wanting to take solos and a couple of groups preparing for a small ensemble for contests.

The high school band has already been working hard as well! They started the semester off with pep band at the varsity basketball game on the 10th of January! Much like the choir, they are beginning to work on solos and small ensembles for the spring solo and ensemble contest. We have also started working on our material for large group contests that are in this coming March. They are working and playing hard and intend to impress the judges reguardless of our size!

The Winter Guard performed at the assembly and the girls varsity game on the 10th of January as well! They did a wonderful job and truly entertained the crowd! They will also be performing their routine a third time February 7th!

Winter guard performed an original routine at courtwarming.
