Some might say that teachers have it easy because students are only in class from 8:10 to 3:19. However, a teacher’s responsibilities and commitment doesn’t stop when the bell rings. They have so much more to get done. I like to refer to a famous quote by Ben Franklin, “by failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.” As an educator and coach it’s important to let the student/athletes know that you are prepared when they enter the door. I believe that quality plans will lead to solid execution. However, being flexible and having open lines of communication are important too. All in all, balance is the key.
