As I write I reflect on some of my personal experiences I have been provided in my life.  And the ones that stick out are the ones that provided the most real life situations. On March 8, 2018, juniors at Putnam County R-1 were given the opportunity to job shadow during the school day.  In order to job shadow students had to have parent permission as well as permission from the place they were going. This took a little bit of work, but was a great networking opportunity for students.  Students in Mr. Klingner’s class as part of the PETS program with Mr. Salas that participated included: Hunter C.-McCutchen and Son Insurance, Hollister S.-Highway Patrol, Corrisma-Unionville Vet Clinic, Ty D.-Weston’s, Rebecca M.-PC R-1 kitchen, Emily C.-PC Rural Health Clinic, Courtney R.-Head Start, Gene R.-PC Care Center, Bryce M.-Sinclair Tractor, and Max K.-MFA. The students had a great time and some are very interested in the chosen career they shadowed. None of this would been possible without support of an awesome community willing to help the future workforce.
