🎉 Homecoming Memories
For Reggie, Homecoming was always a highlight of the school year. He recalls the fun of building floats, playing under the Friday night lights, and showing off his dance moves at the first dance of the year. As a student-athlete, Homecoming meant playing not just for himself, but for the pride of his school—knowing alumni and community members returned home to watch the big game.

🏈 Background & High School Days
A 1990 graduate of Putnam County R-I, Reggie was known by the nickname “Snake”—a nod to Raiders quarterback Kenny Stabler and the way Reggie slithered across the field as a running back. During high school, Reggie was deeply involved in football, basketball, track, and FFA. On the gridiron, he excelled as a running back and cornerback, and on the track, he sprinted in the 100M dash, 4x1, 4x2, and 4x4 relays. His favorite athletic memory? Playing in the 1989 State Championship football game. He credits coach Dave Mitchell for pushing him to be his best throughout his high school career.

👨👩👧👦 Family & Legacy Reggie shares this honor with his father, Ed, saying:
“It is a great honor to follow not only in my father's footsteps, but also to follow in the footsteps that have held this opportunity as well.” Today, Reggie is grateful for his wife, Britney, and their three children:
-
Torqe – Class of 2020
-
Reise – Class of 2024
-
Traylen – Class of 2026
Each of his children has represented Putnam County with pride, through sports, school activities, and friendships. Reggie reflects:
“Watching them represent our school and community with pride has been one of my greatest blessings as a father. Now, with Traylen finishing her senior year, I look back with pride at the years I’ve spent in the stands, cheering on my kids and this community.” Having lived in Putnam County for 53 years, Reggie adds:
“Putnam County is the only place I would ever want to raise my children. I’ve always loved the community, the school, and I hope that one day my kids will want to come back and raise their families here as well.”

🌾 Career & Community
After high school, Reggie ran his own construction business before transitioning full-time to agriculture. Since 2019, he has been a rancher and cattle backgrounder and manages a
10,000-head nursery pig barn. Beyond the farm, Reggie has given back through service on the
Putnam County Fair Board and by supporting local youth and community events.
He says athletics shaped his approach to life:
“Being an athlete has taught me to put effort and work for the things I want. One of the first things you learn in sports is teamwork. For a family, you have to work as a team. It takes hard work to raise a family, and sometimes you go through tough times before you can celebrate the win.”
🏆 Homecoming 2025: Outwit. Outlast. Outplay.
This year’s theme ties in perfectly with Reggie’s philosophy. When asked which word fit him best, he chose
Outlast:
“I’m a person who will keep going until the job is done.”
His advice to students and athletes?
“Always believe that you can do it, never let anyone tell you that you can’t, and always leave it on the field.”
🙌 Looking Back & Forward
If he could give his high school self advice, Reggie says he would have listened to his teachers more closely. Today, being named Grand Marshal means something deeper:
“It makes me realize that what I have done for the community and the accomplishments I have made in the Putnam County school have been realized and greatly appreciated.”
Finally, he leaves the community with this message:
“Thank you for the great opportunity to be the 2025 Grand Marshal.”
Please join us in congratulating
Mr. Reggie Brundage, Class of 1990, our
2025 Putnam County Homecoming Grand Marshal!
We’ll see you at the parade on
Friday, October 10, 2025, at 2:00 PM, and under the Friday night lights as we cheer on our Midgets! 💙🤍
