Physical Facilities

For questions regarding our Physical Facilities, please contact Mrs. Lauren Shipley at 660-947-3361 ext 301. She is located in the Superintendent's office and can help you in obtaining a key card to use the Physical Facilities. There is a minimal fee required for usage of our facilities.

PC R-I Open For Fitness

 Area residents seeking to boost their fitness level are welcome to use the Putnam County R-I facilities for a minimal fee. 

The school is open for walkers every weekday before and after school. Walkers should enter through the west high school entrance which is open from 4:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. most days. The elementary, middle, and high schools are all essentially under one roof, providing an interesting walk.

The Fitness Center, located on the east side of the high school is also open before and after school. The fitness center has a cardio room that contains two treadmills, two elliptical machines, a stationary bike, as well as two televisions. The equipment in the weight room has been updated and features 14 machines and benches. A men’s and women’s bathroom and water fountain are all located in the fitness center. Users of the fitness center are asked to wipe down equipment and replace weights on the designated racks as a courtesy and show respect to the facilities. Please call 660-947-3361, ext. 301 to schedule an appointment to purchase a key fob for entry to the fitness center. 

When the weather is nice, the PC campus provides several walking/running opportunities. The Prairie Trail, a .6 mile walking trail, was completed two years ago and is located south of the school. The cement part of the trail winds from the parking lot through the softball complex and has a turnaround area by the football practice field.  From the turnaround point on, the trail is gravel and goes to the east property line of the school. The school buildings also have cement sidewalks on all sides, providing an alternative walking route, and the track at the football stadium is available as well.
