PCHS Students Perform in Truman State University High School Honor Band🎶

A group of Putnam County High School band students recently showcased their musical talent at Truman State University, performing in the prestigious Truman Honor Band concert held Monday, November 17, in Baldwin Hall.
Under the direction of conductor Dr. Curran Prendergast, eleven PCHS students joined musicians from across the region to present a full concert after 6 hours of preparation and rehearsal. The event highlighted their hard work and commitment to advancing their musical skills.
Three PCHS students—Trista, Bowdy, and Jocelyn—earned first chair honors, marking a significant achievement and bringing pride to the Putnam County R-I music program. Putnam County students represented 1/4 of the total first chair band members!
Participation in regional honor bands supports the district’s goals for student success, instructional excellence, and enrichment opportunities, as outlined in the district’s Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP).
The students were recognized for representing Putnam County with dedication and professionalism.
