Parent Education Night: Online Safety & Digital Responsibility
Tuesday, March 10 | 6:00 PM | MS Auditorium
Putnam County R-I will host Sgt. Brad Germann from the Missouri State Highway Patrol DDCC Public Information & Education Division for an important parent education session focused on the dangers and responsibilities of online activity.
This session is open to all district parents and guardians (K–12) and will also be available to community members and neighboring districts.
During this presentation, Sgt. Germann will discuss:

  • The prevalence of online predators
  • How children can become victims of exploitation
  • Risks associated with social media, gaming, and online conversations
  • Warning signs families should recognize
  • How to prepare children with greater situational awareness
  • How to have proactive, informed conversations when providing or monitoring devices
This parent session will be more detailed than the version presented to students and is designed to equip adults with practical information to better protect their children.
Following the parent session, we plan to offer a student presentation at a later date. Similar to other health and safety programs offered in our district, parents will have the opportunity to opt their child out if they choose.
We strongly encourage parents to attend this important and timely presentation.
If you have questions, please contact the district office.
