It's that time of year. Winter weather is here. So are colds, influenza, and COVID strains. Below you will find just a few things you can do to help keep our students and staff healthy. Together, we can do our best to minimize the spread of all the yucky viruses that slow us down so we can be #HeatlhyAtSchool 

It’s more important than ever to evaluate your child’s health every morning! Before he or she leaves the house, check for a fever and monitor other conditions to determine if your student is well enough for class. Coughing? Running a fever? Experiencing flu-like symptoms? If your child is suffering from any of these symptoms, talk to a medical professional & stay home from school! 

Families, be sure to stay informed about the symptoms to screen your child for each morning so we keep everyone #HealthyatSchool - - Fever or chills, cough, headache, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, new loss of taste or smell, new runny nose or congestion, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, sore throat. 

By turning preventive measures into good, solid habits, we can stop the virus from spreading in our school systems. Here are things we can do to prevent illness. 

1. Wash your hands frequently
2. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
3. Cover your mouth when you cough using a tissue or the bend of your elbow
4. If your child has symptoms, keep them home and limit contact with others
5. Get plenty of rest, fluids, healthy foods, fresh air, and sunshine
6. Seek medical care early if you have difficulty breathing, fever, coughs, etc. Monitor symptoms closely
7. Clean and disinfect surfaces like phones, doorknobs, bathrooms, and heavily used surfaces regularly
