2014 Food Drive a Success!

During the week of September 15 -19 Putnam County R-1 hosted its annual Food Drive. All donations collected during the food drive are used to fill our local food pantry. This year the career and technical organizations FBLA and DECA presented a challenge to all fifth period high school classes to collect canned goods and other non-perishable food items. The winning class will receive a pizza party. This event is part of the various community service projects that FBLA and DECA organizations provide throughout the academic school year.

Mrs. DeVore’s fifth period freshman guided study class dominated in the High School donating 191 items. The school district as a whole collected an estimated 1,080 pounds of food items.  Donations were collected in the Elementary, Middle School and High School.  Admission to the September 19th football game was also four food items.

Mrs. Kathy Rhodes and Mrs. Danyel Fitzpatrick (FBLA/DECA Advisers) are very proud of the students and all the donations they collected.
