Upcoming NJHS Induction Ceremony

Reasons to Join NJHS!

The Putnam County Middle School chapter of the National Junior Honor Society will be having their in school tapping ceremony on Friday February 2nd, 2018. This ceremony has become a fun tradition for both teachers and students at PCMS.  Once the new inductees have been recognized, they will stay after the ceremony for a short meeting where parent letters will be sent home.  The Induction ceremony of our new members that is open to the public will occur in the middle school auditorium on Friday February 9th, at 5:30 pm.

There are several requirements that students must meet in order to become inducted into National Junior Honor Society.  Students inducted must be at least a second semester 7th or 8th grader, have a scholarship achievement of at least a 3.5 cumulative G.P.A., have a good reputation in regards to leadership service, scholarship, character, and citizenship, and have been a student at Putnam County Middle School for at least one semester.  Students that meet these requirements should look forward to joining a group that works to serve their community and their school.  So far this school year, students have tutored students at both the elementary and middle school levels, participated in the living windows contest on the square, and took part in Project Santa.  Each of our service projects help students to see the importance of giving back to our community as well as the good feeling you get when you do it.

I am so excited about inducting our new members and cannot wait to work with them to serve our school and community.
