Launch the media gallery 1 playerGiving any endeavor four years of faithful allegiance is a goal many never achieve. When that degree of loyalty means early practices in both the cold and heat, pain and sometimes actual injury, that commitment takes on a more serious tone. These seven young men have stuck with playing football for Putnam County R-I Schools for their entire four years of high school. Last year began the tradition of allowing students who reach that mark in Midget football the opportunity to take their jerseys home to keep. We hope these souvenirs of their high school football careers will be a lasting reminder that grit and determination pay off in the long haul. When you see Payne P., Carson Q., Justin P., Ian T., Austin P., Tyler R., or Grant S., please congratulate them on a job well done.
(Post script: since these fellows are student athletes with an emphasis on being students first, both Tyler and Grant were on a DECA trip today. We'll be catching up with them for a photo as soon as possible.)
