Erica Hayden: Senior Spotlight PCHS Class of 2022

Help us congratulate our next Senior Spotlight, Miss Erica Hayden!

Erica is the great-grandaughter of Lillian Elliott.

Erica's favorite quote is: "When your mind is full of assumptions, conclusions, and beliefs, it has not penetration, it just repeats past impressions."

Throughout her high school career, Erica has been active in FCCLA and Interact for 2 years and SADD for 1 year.

Her advice for incoming freshmen is, "Do your work and have fun! Make sure to make the most of your high school years!"

One of Erica's funniest memories at Putnam: "In one of my classes, one of the old teachers would come in and sing. One time he sang one of the songs from Shrek. It was funny!"

After graduation, Erica plans to go to college for nursing at Truman or Indian Hills. In 5-10 years, she sees herself working as a Registered Nurse.

Erica tells us Mrs. Owings has had the biggest impact on her. She says, "Mrs. Owings, she is one of the few teachers I really trust with a lot of stuff."

Erica's favorite class was her Entrepreneurship class during her junior year. She says, "A student would come in sometimes and teach us about magic stuff. The teacher and students would get a kick out of it and love it."

The most memorable moment at Putnam was a sad one when Erica's best friend moved away. "It's the biggest thing I can remember because I was worried I wouldn't hear from her again, but now I talk to her every day."

Help us wish Erica all the best after graduation, in her pursuit to become a nurse.

Congratulations, Erica!
