February’s Character Education Assembly in the Middle School featured the word “trustworthiness,” which means confidence in the integrity, ability, character, and truthfulness of others. The community member receiving the Character Award for trustworthiness during the assembly on February 22 was Christina Schnelle.

Mrs. Schnelle grew up in Knox County and graduated from Knox County High School. She moved to Columbia, Mo., to further her education by attending Columbia College, where she received her degree in business management. While in college, she met her husband Chris in statistics class.

Mr. and Mrs. Schnelle married in 1995 and have two children, Aaron and Grace—both students at PC R-1 Middle School. After college, Mrs. Schnelle began working in the insurance industry until she moved to Unionville four years ago. She now works at Putnam County Memorial Hospital in the business office.

Mrs. Schnelle and her husband own a large farm southwest of Unionville which keeps them very busy. She is also active in 4-H and is a leader of the Classic Kid’s Club and a member of Midway Baptist Church, helping with the children in the nursery.

Both of her children are in sports which keeps the family busy attending all the games during the school year and for summer ball as well. Mrs. Schnelle likes to go horseback riding and enjoys photography and taking pictures of the PC students’ sporting events.
