Stretching in Math
We all know muscles hurt when we do things we are not used to doing. It is good to stretch the muscles to get them used to activity. That is what is happening in 8th grade math class. We are stretching our math knowledge and it may seem hard at the time and even hurts a little as we are doing it. “No pain, no gain” applies even in math.
Students are diligently working to become proficient in solving and rewriting equations. They are stretched as these skills are applied to geometric formulas and real-life problems. Remind your student that their ebooks have videos which they can view on certain examples to help them on problems that may be a struggle. Of course, I am available to assist any student in reaching the goals expected of them. They will see a positive result from the stretching!
