Cooperation

March Community Winner Melody Dickerson

Our character education word of the month for March is Cooperation.  Working well with others is an important part of success in middle school and in life in general.  Middle school students nominated Melody Dickerson as a person in the community who exemplifies that positive character trait. Mrs. Dickerson grew up on a dairy farm south of Kansas City. Her favorite things about school were band and track. She went to college at Northwest and graduated with a degree in animal science. While in college she had a couple interesting jobs, she was a tour guide at Mount Vernon in Washington D.C. where George Washington lived. She also spent a summer in Stuttgart Germany as a nanny. In 2002 she married Josh Dickerson and moved to Lucerne. They now have three kids and live on a farm near Lemons. Her hobbies include gardening, reading, and sports. Mrs. Dickerson is a familiar face to you all because she substitute teaches here at PC. Being a substitute teacher is a perfect example of cooperation because she has to be flexible and willing to work with students and other teachers to do her job.
