Welcome back to PCR-I Elementary from Mrs. Altiser!

Dear Students and Parents,

It is hard to believe the summer is drawing to a close and a new school year is upon us.  I hope you have had an enjoyable summer and have had the opportunity to rest, relax, and enjoy time with your families.  I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome you to the 2021-22 school year and introduce some of our new staff members and tell you a little about our plans for the year.

Our theme this year is “Be the one!”  We will incorporate this with our character words and also with academics and behavior.  We have excellent students and want to encourage and recognize those who go above and beyond to be the one...who is kind, who is responsible, who works hard, who shows respect, and etc.  At this time we plan to resume our monthly in-person character education assemblies which are typically held the last Friday of the month at 8:30 in the elementary gym.  

We have three new faces in elementary classrooms this year.  Samantha Shipley will be teaching kindergarten.  Mandy Taylor will be teaching first grade.  Amanda Carleton will be teaching fourth grade.  I would like to invite you to a Meet and Greet with our new teachers Saturday, August 7, from 5:00-7:00 at the Bixler building on the west side of the square.  Our annual Open House will be held Thursday, August 19, from 5:00-6:00 with the Title I Parent meeting being held at 5:30 in the elementary gym.  I look forward to seeing all of you there!

New student enrollment will be held on August 11 with the last names A-L from 9:00-11:00 a.m. and the last names M-Z from 1:00-3:00 p.m.  The first day of school for students is Monday, August 23.  I am looking forward to that day!  Enjoy the remainder of your summer.
