March is Youth Art Month
Youth Art Month is a celebration of the arts that takes place nationally every March. YAM was formed not only to celebrate but to educate. Art experiences are necessary to education and help develop skills, such as; problem-solving, creativity, observation, and communication. The high school Art Club celebrates YAM with their own Art Week full of activities and spirit days where they invite all high school students to participate. This year Art week is March 8th through March 12 and our spirit days are as follows:
Monday: Mona Lisa Monday/Wear PJ's
Tuesday: Dress up as your favorite teacher, an artist, or a famous artist
Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday/Dress in as many colors and patterns as you can
Thursday: Tie-Dye Thursday
Friday: Wear your buttons
As a fundraiser for the Art Club, members will be selling buttons and stickers during the middle and high school lunch shifts all week.
