🎓🌟 Senior Spotlight: Haven Seaton 🌟🎓
Let's celebrate Haven Seaton, an exceptional member of the #PCHSClassOf2024! Here's a glimpse into her remarkable journey:
👨👩👧👦 Family Foundation: Haven is the daughter of Marissa and Wes Seaton and the late Zach Sands. Haven enjoys making memories with her family going out to eat and exploring new places.
🌟 Personal Inspiration: Haven draws inspiration from her cousin Jaryn, who taught her to find humor in tough times and navigate high school with resilience and laughter. Haven shares, "My cousin Jaryn has always been there for me and made me feel like I was never alone. She inspires me to find the humor in hard times and that has helped me throughout my high-school journey significantly."
🏅Extracurricular Excellence: Haven excelled in cheerleading and track and field, learning valuable lessons in joy, spirit, and stepping out of her comfort zone. She also participated in FCCLA, Interact, NHS, and Student Council, learning responsibility and leadership. Haven told us, "Cheerleading taught me that joy and spirit can still be found in the lowest of moments and it taught me to make the most out of the best ones. Track and field has taught me how to step out of my comfort zone and try new things. I learned how to not care as much about what others think and to just better myself, for myself. I also was involved in a few clubs throughout my high school career such as FCCLA, Interact, NHS, and Student Council. These clubs taught me a lot about responsibility and leadership. All of these activities provided me with lots of moments- good and bad- that I will hold on to forever."
🎖️ Standout Achievement: Haven's proudest moment was winning the character word of the month "caring," reflecting her efforts to make a positive impact on those around her. She shares, "My proudest achievement during my time in high school, while this may seem minute, was winning the character word of the month "caring." While I have failed many times at being caring towards the people around me, it is something that I have always tried to focus on doing. It made me proud to see that I had made that impression on people."
😂 Memorable Moment: "A memorable and funny moment from my time at Putnam County that comes to mind was sitting by Josh Meyers my freshman year in Ms. Mallette's geometry class. He was always cracking me up and making me feel better about being lost in the material because 9 times out of 10 he was more confused than I was."
🌱 Personal Growth: Haven learned to embrace herself and care less about others' opinions, focusing on being true to herself and tackling challenges one step at a time. She shared, "I believe that I have learned that being myself is the easiest way to get through the pressures that high school can bring. I have learned to care less about what people may think of me and just be who God wants me to be. I still have a lot of improvement to make but I know that I have grown and that encourages me to continue to grow. My advice would be to remember that people don't care as much as you think they do. & when things seem like they are getting too hard to handle, just tackle it all one thing at a time."
🎒 Favorite Class: Haven shared, "My favorite class in high school was Mrs. Owings's English class my sophomore year. I really enjoyed having her as a teacher. She truly made the subject come to life. We laughed a lot in that class but we also had a lot of serious discussions that always left me with something to ponder about."
🏞️ Leisure Time: Haven enjoys self-care days at home, indulging in relaxation and rejuvenation.
🌟 One Wish: Haven's wish is to travel the world for free, fueling her passion for exploration and adventure.
💬 Three Words: Observant, sensitive, and goofy describe Haven's vibrant personality.
👩🏫 Admired Figure: Haven admires her mother for her kindness, strength, and unwavering support through tough times. She told us, "I admire my mother the most because she is everything I could ever want or need in a mom. She has been there for me and held my hand through some of the toughest situations. She has a beautiful heart and the kindest spirit. I would be extremely proud to be half of the person she is."
🚀 Future Aspirations: Haven plans to pursue a Master's degree in counseling, with dreams of opening her own counseling services, getting married, and starting a family.
🎓 High School Reflection: Haven's high school journey was full of highs and lows, shaping her into the resilient individual she is today.
🎒 Standout Staff Member: "Mrs. Fleshman. She has always helped me to see the bigger picture and think through my problems rationally. She has always been super kind and understanding in some of my worst moments. For that and so much more, I will always be so thankful for her."
🥺 Missed Moments: Haven will miss everything in some way, but she's ready to embrace new experiences and opportunities.
