Rubber Band Helicopters
Sixth-grade math elective students built rubber band helicopters. During the experiment, they learned the rubber band releases energy by unwinding, which turns the propeller. Through trial and error, they discovered the size of the helicopter cutout, paperclip, and rubber bands all made an impact on the success of the flight.
