Quiz-Quiz-Trade: Famous Figures
On Friday, students played a trivia game called Quiz-Quiz-Trade. The game includes trading cards with information about the famous figures of the American Revolution. Students first had to find the information for 4 cards using research techniques. Then they played the game with one of their cards. As they are playing the game, they learn about the roles the figure had in the Revolution, some fun facts, and the legacy of the figures. This allowed students to review information while interacting with their classmates. They enjoyed getting to be out of their desks for much of the period. Then after they played, I allowed them to get up and trade for the figures they wanted. Who knew eighth graders were so competitive over George Washington?
