Help us celebrate PCHS Class of 2021 Senior Spotlight, Miss Jaylee McKenzie!
Jaylee is the daughter of Rachael and Jared Spence.
What are your plans after graduation? “After graduation, I plan to earn my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing at William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa.”
What’s your favorite memory at PCR-I? “My Junior year I couldn't go to the homecoming dance so some of my friends took me to the carwash after the football game and we all played hacky sack. Oh, and of course all the crazy stuff that happens in 6th-hour art.”
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? “In ten years, I see myself traveling the world. I will be working as a Pediatric Nurse in a Cardiology Unit taking care of a bunch of little kiddos wherever I go. I might end up settling down probably in Pella, Iowa or who knows, maybe even Switzerland.”
What is something you want people to know? “Always follow your dreams, no matter how far away they may seem. And go travel the world!”
What’s your favorite quote? "Never go to a doctor whose office plants have died"- Erma Bombeck
What’s your advice for incoming freshmen? “Go ahead and eat that extra cookie at lunch. You deserve it!”
Who inspires you to pursue your dreams? “My Mom is definitely my inspiration behind me pursuing my dreams. She pushes me to follow through on all my goals and try my hardest no matter what I am doing. "Suck it up" is her catchphrase. My Mom also let me watch a lot of House when I was younger, which inspired my interest in the medical field.”
