Shaylie Leeper: Senior Spotlight Class of 2022

Help us congratulate Class of 2022 PCHS Senior, Miss Shaylie Leeper!

Shaylie is the daughter of Amanda and Jim Bonnell. Her favorite quote is "your future is only as good as the work you put into it."

Shaylie has been involved in FTA and is currently the Vice President for our local chapter.

Shaylie plans to attend Indian Hills after graduation to earn her degree in Elementary Education. In 5-10 years, she sees herself having graduated from college and working as an elementary teacher.

We asked Shaylie what she would tell incoming freshmen. She said, "Enjoy the next few years. It goes by way too fast!" She tells us that the Entrepreneurship class during her junior year was her favorite class. "Every Monday a classmate would teach us some kind of a cool trick. We called them Magic Mondays."

Shaylie's funniest memory from school was her freshman year. She and Ashlynn Knowles would sing a One Direction song to Landon Wood and he would cover his ears because he said One Direction hurt his ears!" One of Shaylie's most memorable moments was when our foreign exchange students were able to try new American foods they had never had before.

When asked what teacher or staff member at Putnam has had the biggest impact on her, Shaylie told us, "Mrs. Owings, definitely!" Even though I can be a pain, Mrs. Owings is there for me and she always pushes me to be the best I can be."

Congratulations, Shaylie! We are #PutnamProud of you!
