Shaylea Vestal: PCHS Class of 2022 Senior Spotlight

Help us congratulate our next PCHS Class of 2022 Senior Spotlight, Miss Shaylea Vestal!

Shaylea is the daughter of C.L. and Mary Vestal.

Shaylea's favorite quote is from John 13:7. "You may not understand now what I am doing, but someday you will."

During high school, Shaylea has been active in SADD, FFA, and Band for two years, FCCLA for three years, FBLA for one year, and Golf all 4 years. Her advice for freshmen: "Get involved! You are only in high school once."

Shaylea's funniest memories have revolved around golf. She tells us, "Every moment spent on the golf course with Abbie. From accidentally throwing my club into a pond, to having squirrels almost steal our balls, we always had a lot of laughs."

After graduation, Shaylea plans to attend Indian Hills Community College to obtain a degree in nursing. In 5-10 years, she sees herself married, living in Putnam County, working as a pediatric nurse at a nearby hospital.

When we asked Shaylea what teacher or staff member at Putnam has had the biggest impact on her. She replied, "Mr. Smith and Mr. Hicks have had a strong impact on me throughout high school they have given me so much advice."

Shaylea tells us that "Government has overall been my favorite class at Putnam. I got to use my strong willpower and debate skills almost every day."

Most memorable moment: "Having my Uncle (Mr. Smith) as my golf coach. He made golf a fun sport and always supported me through all of the meets."

Congratulations, Shaylea! We are #PutnamProud of you!
