Hy-Vee and Putnam County PTO Support Character Education
The students at Putnam County R-I Elementary are very fortunate to have local support from the Unionville, MO Hy-Vee Food Store and PTO in promoting good character. Each year Hy-Vee generously sponsors the t-shirt giveaways for the Character Education Program. Three t-shirts per month are drawn for the monthly winners. The t-shirt design this year is displayed in the article with the quote, "Character is doing the right thing even when no one is looking."
The local PTO paid for the Character Education brag tags. Each student received a key ring with the Character Education tag when school started. At the monthly assemblies, they have the opportunity to earn more brag tags, The A-academics, B-behavior and C-character awards each come with a tag to add to their collection which is proudly hung from book bags.
If you are a parent of an elementary student, please consider joining the PTO. It is a worthwhile organization that does a lot of good in our school community. Also, if you are a patron of Hy-Vee, know that they generously support our students. We live in a great community and appreciate the generosity very much.
