FFA Trap Team Qualifies for Districts

The Putnam County FFA Trapshooting team has been competing in various trapshooting tournaments. This year’s team was selected with several interested members each shooting 4 rounds for score at the local range. After this was done, the scores were added up and the top 12 shooters were ranked. Those members trying out for the team were:  Gage P, Lane N, Wyatt H, Lance F, Carter Q, David R, Dayton D, Jude P, Case P, Kooper H, Wyatt J, and Jonathan F.

In preparation for the Area trap shoot, seven members of the Putnam County squad competed in the Schuyler County FFA trap shoot at Bosco’s Gun Club in Lancaster, on Saturday, Sept 11, 2021. The team shot 198 out of 250. The Putnam team was led by Wyatt H with a 45 out of 50 and Lane N shooting a 43 out of 50.   

On September 18, 2021, ten team members traveled to the Green City FFA Trap shoot which was held at Bosco’s Gun Club in Lancaster.  At this tournament, the A team shot 217 out of 250. The B team shot 181 out of 250. The top shooters for A team were Gage P with a 47 out of 50, Lane N with a 46, and Lance F with a 45. The top score for the B team was Case P with a 41.  

 

On Tuesday, Sept 28, 2021, 10 shooters for the Putnam County team shot in the annual Area FFA Trap Shoot held at Bosco Gun Club in Lancaster. The top five scores for Putnam County counted for our team score which totaled 231 out of 250. The score placed the team 6th out of 21 teams and qualified the Putnam team for the district shoot. Gage P was top shooter for Putnam with a 49 out of 50. Other top scores for the Putnam team at the Area shoot were: Lane N with a 47, Carter Q with a 46, and Lance F and David R both with a score of 44. The District trap shoot will be held on October 2, 2021, at Bosco’s Gun Club in Lancaster, MO. Those members making the district trap shoot are Lane N, Carter Q, Lance F, David R, and Gage P, with Wyatt H as an alternate.
