PCHS Class of 2023 Senior Spotlight: Cora Hartwig

🥳Senior Spotlight Time!
👩🏼‍🎓Help us congratulate Class of 2023 PCHS Senior, Miss Cora Hartwig!
🤍Cora is the daughter of Ami and Danny Hartwig.
💙Cora's favorite quote: "Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” ―Theodore Roosevelt
💙Cora has been active in FCCLA, FBLA, DECA, FFA, Interact, Varsity Cheerleading, National Honor Society, Yearbook, Class Officer, Student Council, and SADD.
💙We asked Cora what her advice would be for incoming freshmen. She said, "Get involved with as many extracurricular activities as you can. The greatest memories I have and will keep with me forever come from the numerous trips and activities I have been to through these clubs. Sure, your life will feel pretty chaotic at times, but I think this helps to prepare you for the real world, not to mention the amount of character development that comes from career and technical education classes."
😂Cora's funniest memory from high school: "My funniest memory from Putnam is from my sophomore year during National Convention in Indianapolis. Sofia, Vanessa, Dylan and I shared a room during our time there, which was about four days. Each night, Dylan would snore so loudly that it would wake us other three girls up at some point in the night. By our last night there, we were feeling pretty hysterical and sleep deprived. It just so happened that the snoring woke me, Sofia, and Vanessa all up at the same time that night. We all just listened to the sound of Dylan's snores while dying laughing and eventually laughed ourselves to sleep."
👩🏼‍🎓Cora plans to attend Mizzou and pursue a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
💙We asked Cora what her favorite class was at Putnam. She told us, "I have really enjoyed my college statistics class this year because I have learned a lot and we get the opportunity to do some fun and interesting projects. I also just enjoy that it is a smaller class which allows for more flexibility."
🎯When asked where she sees herself in 5-10 years, Cora replied, "In 5-10 years I plan to return to the North Missouri area with hopes of working within a school district, helping children to feel more comfortable in their speaking and communication skills."
🎀Cora told us about her most memorable moment: "I will never forget winning state cheer my freshman year. I remember just being so nervous that I would let my team down but after months of hard work, we ended up winning. This feeling is indescribable. Luckily I have had the opportunity to be on teams that have gone on to win a couple more state titles, but none compare to the feeling of that first time."
💙We asked Cora what teacher or staff member at Putnam has had the biggest impact on her and why. She said, "Mrs. Brook Fleshman has undoubtedly had the greatest impact on me and my education as a whole. She always offers a listening ear and the best advice. She has helped me to grow both as a student and as a person."
Congratulations, Cora! We are #PutnamProud of you! #pchsclassof2023 #PutnamProud
